These tools include four new HTML Design Models: Cyber, HTML, Paseo, and Polar, running on Pages 1.7 ObjectBased(tm) word-processing solution. Separately, Pages is also announcing a design consulting service for those who want to establish a Web presence. Now, with Pages, you can create linked HTML documents easily and effectively, with little or no knowledge of HTML. You can also create styled headlines and tables, readable by standard Web browsers, that give a unique look to your pages. *The Web is growing explosively and is fast becoming the leading tool for all forms of information retrieval and dissemination including publishing, customer service, and advertising,: states Jim Hamerly, Pages' V.P., Engineering. *Two major roadblocks remain for individuals, institutions, and companies seeking to establish a presence on the Web: the difficulty of creating Web pages, and the fact that all HTML documents tend to look the same. Pages' new Web solution eliminates these technical barriers, making it easy to create a widespread presence on the World Wide Web.: Pages by Pages(tm) is the first commercial product that breaks through both roadblocks. It allows you to create HTML documents using a drag-and-drop WYSIWYG interface; as you create your document, you see at all times how it will appear without having to switch between *edit: and *preview" modes. Little understanding of HTML is required; instead, you can rapidly lay out, edit, rearrange, and restyle a page without ever seeing HTML source code. Even links to other documents are done using a select-drag-and-drop approach. The result is error-free HTML code that adheres to the HTML 2.0 Specification. What's more, Pages' patented Design Model(tm) technology lets you embed styled headlines and tables not achievable using standard HTML creation tools. These elements are fully editable under Pages and are automatically converted to a form viewable by most Web browsers. There are several HTML-specific Design Models, but standard Pages Design Models can be used as well. Pages Software Inc also offers design consulting for firms that want custom Design Models to give their Web documents a unique, distinctive look. Larry Spelhaug, President and CEO of Pages Software Inc says *Extending Pages' architecture to include HTML support was a logical direction, and extends our investment in structured documents. In conjunction with our PROKit API, Pages' solution can integrate with our customers' client-server database publishing requirements for the Web. Our new tools help position NEXTSTEP as a leading environment for the Information Super Highway.: With Pages, anyone who can use a word processor can create well-styled, well-formed Web pages in a matter of minutes. Pages also includes filter support for Word, WordPerfect, Ami Pro, FrameMaker (MIF), RTF, and so on. The roadblocks to the Web are gone. The Pages Web Solution is scheduled to ship in January, 1995. Pages HTML Design Models will be priced at $95.00 each. Pages is sold through authorized resellers worldwide, as well as directly from Pages Software Inc. Orders can be placed by calling 1-619-492-9050 or by sending e-mail to info@pages.com. For more information on the products and the company, see us on the World Wide Web: http://www.pages.com.
